Platinum Albums and What You Can Learn From Them

By listening to and studying these releases you can analyze many things. Who produced. Who wrote the songs. What instrumentation was used. What formats of radio played the songs. Who they appeal to.
Was there a meaning to the title. Were special guest vocalists/musicians featured. Who are the publishing companies/record labels. Who some of the artist/band representatives are and much more. This should assist you in making both creative and business decisions. I selected these releases because they have all achieved platinum plus status.

"I'm a Graduate of Bacharach University!" -- Steve Tyrell's New CD Pays Tribute to His Mentor

Steve Tyrell is often asked "Where did you go to college?"

His response is always the same. "I'm a graduate of Bacharach University."

Steve's new CD Back to Bacharach: The Songs of Burt Bacharach and Hal David pays tribute to the multi-platinum compositions of those gifted composers.

Steve invited a few of his friends to join him on this release. In addition to a who's who of outstanding musicians, the featured vocalists include:

Herb Alpert
Martina McBride
Rod Stewart
James Taylor
Dionne Warwick
Patti Austin
and Mr. Burt Bacharach

If you are an aspiring songwriter, this is a masters thesis on the art.

Potty Mouth Bareilles Writes Her Own Bio (And Along With "Love Song" ...It's A Hit!)

Now I'm not suggesting everyone reading do this and put publicists out of business, but kudos to Sara Bareilles, who didn't think the professional bio written for her was revealing enough so she wrote her own.

Bareilles' 'Little Voice' CD is heading towards Platinum, and her #1 single "Love Song," along with her bio, have resonated with fans.

You know the song, now get to know Sara:

The Jerry Lembo Entertainment Group is proud to be running the radio promotion campaign for Astonish Entertainment artist David Martin.

And you can’t help but think that David may be feeling a bit like Forrest Gump today. David is featured on the front page of today's Wall Street Journal. Special thanks to WSJ reporter Ellen Byron. Congratulations and Happy Valentine’s Day David!
